1. Purpose
This policy sets out the academic and professional criteria for selecting lecturers and instructors, the program that qualifies them for the e-training environment, and the mechanism for monitoring their performance.
2. Selection Criteria
- Academic qualification and professional experience in the field of specialization.
- Practical experience in the subjects taught, with documented applied experience for specialized programs such as governance, compliance and risk management.
- Competence in delivering on-site and virtual training and managing online classrooms.
- Commitment to the Academy’s quality standards and academic policies.
- Continuous professional development and currency with the latest practices and relevant legislation.
- Fulfilment of the regulators’ instructor requirements in the programs they accredit.
3. Qualification Program
Instructors are qualified upon joining the faculty across three tracks:

| Use of technology | Familiarity with the platform and dashboards, e-training policies and procedures, interaction tools in virtual classrooms, and mobile applications. |
| E-content development | Preparing and publishing digital content through learning management systems, and updating materials in line with the labour market and regulations. |
| E-teaching skills | Active remote learning strategies, managing dialogue and interaction, monitoring trainee progress, fair assessment and feedback. |
4. NELC Professional Certificates
- The Academy ensures that instructors obtain the professional certificates of the National eLearning Center according to the schedule published on the Center’s website: Online Teaching and Training (OTT) and e-Learning Experience Design (eLXD).
- Supervisory staff obtain the Online Teaching and Training (OTT) and e-Learning Quality Assurance (eLQA) certificates.
5. Performance Monitoring
- Periodic evaluation of instructor performance through trainee evaluations, academic reviews and quality indicators.
- Attendance of selected training sessions to verify the application of acquired skills and provide guidance where needed.
- An individual improvement plan when performance indicators decline, with continuation reconsidered if no improvement follows.
6. Instructor Obligations
- Adherence to the approved training plan, the training calendar and the deadlines for recording attendance and grades.
- Compliance with the Academic Integrity Policy (IA-POL-01), the Intellectual Property and Copyright Policy (IA-POL-03), the Academic Communication Policy (IA-POL-16) and the Privacy Policy.
- Treating trainees with respect and impartiality, and providing constructive, timely feedback.
