Cancellation and Refund Policy

Document No.:
IA-POL-21
Version:
1.0
Effective Date:
September 2026
Scope:
Courses, training programs and professional certifications (excluding TVTC-accredited diploma programs)
Approved by:
Senior Management of Investment Academy
Review Cycle:
Annually, or upon changes to the applicable laws and instructions

To ensure quality delivery, secure seat allocation and honour its obligations to instructors, regulators and accrediting bodies, Investment Academy for Training applies this Policy to registration in its courses, training programs and professional certifications. It does not apply to TVTC-accredited diploma programs, which are governed by the Diploma Regulations (IA-POL-20) and their registration form. Completing registration and payment constitutes the trainee’s acknowledgement of this Policy and acceptance of the following provisions:

Article 1: Cancellation before the Program Starts

The trainee may submit a request to cancel registration through the official channels at least two business days before the program start date; an accepted request is handled under the refund provisions of this Policy.

Article 2: Cancellation after the Program Starts or Non-attendance

No refund is due after the program starts, or after materials, links or recordings have been made available to the trainee, except as the Academy decides in writing. No refund is due to a trainee who does not attend without submitting a cancellation request through the official channels within the period set in Article 1.

Article 3: Professional Certifications and International Exams

Fees for courses linked to professional certifications, accreditations or international exams are non-refundable, and the trainee shall sit the international exams within the period set by the Academy.

Article 4: Promotional Courses, Offers and Discounts

No refund is due for promotional courses or courses offered under an offer or discount, except for what the “Golden Guarantee” covers where announced for the course, namely: attending the whole program again, or requesting cancellation after the first day only.

Article 5: Fee Transfer instead of Refund

At the trainee’s request, the Academy may transfer the fees to another program subject to seat availability; a transfer is an alternative to a refund, not an acquired right.

Article 6: Refund Method and Timing

Where a refund is due, it is processed within fifteen (15) business days of the request being approved, and the amount is returned by the original payment method.

Article 7: Value-Added Tax

Published fees are inclusive of VAT, and the tax effect of any refund is handled in accordance with the VAT Law and its Implementing Regulations.

Article 8: Decisions on Requests

The Academy decides on cancellation, transfer and refund requests under this Policy and notifies the trainee of its reasoned decision through the official channels; the trainee may appeal it under the Complaints and Grievances Mechanism (IA-POL-08).

Article 9: Bundled Subscriptions

Where a course includes a subscription to a third-party program or platform — including one granted within the bundle at no separate charge — its cost becomes due to the provider upon activation and is non-refundable. This Article creates no right to a refund and does not widen any: refunds arise solely under the preceding Articles, and where one is actually due, the actual subscription cost is first deducted and only the remaining balance is returned, whether or not the trainee has used the subscription.

Article 10: Complimentary Seats and Prizes

A seat awarded free of charge or for nominal consideration (competition, prize, offer or grant) covers the training course alone; it includes neither any associated subscription nor any examination, professional certification or accreditation fees. A holder who wants any of these must pay their fees in full and separately at the published price. A complimentary seat carries no right to a cash refund, compensation or exchange for its value.

Article 11: Statutory Rights

This Policy is without prejudice to the rights granted to the trainee as a consumer under applicable laws, including the E-Commerce Law and its Implementing Regulations, and to the trainee’s right to resort to the competent authorities.

Submitting Requests

Cancellation, transfer and refund requests are submitted through the following official channels, and the date of receipt through them applies:
